About Fish Eat Fish

Fish Eat Fish is the underwater food chain turned into a two-player duel. Both players control a fish in the same tank, and the food chain has one rule: you can only eat what is smaller than you. Food falls from the surface — gobble it to grow — while enemy fish patrol the depths, and your rival is doing exactly the same thing one fin's distance away.

The strategy is all in the size curve. Grow faster than your friend and their fish becomes lunch; fall behind and the tank suddenly feels very small. Enemy fish punish greedy feeding runs, so the map knowledge of where food lands safely is worth as much as raw speed. When your fish is finally bigger than your friend's, the hunt flips — and the runner becomes the dinner.

Free in the browser, no download: player one on Q and E, player two on H and K on desktop, on-screen buttons on mobile. One tank, two appetites, zero mercy.

How to play

Desktop Player 1: Q and E to steer up and down. Player 2: H and K. Movement is vertical steering over a scrolling tank.
Mobile Each player uses on-screen buttons on their half of the screen to steer their fish.

Tips & tricks

  1. Early game, hug the food columns — the first thirty seconds of uninterrupted eating decide the mid-game size gap.
  2. Do not chase your rival while you are still smaller; enemy fish and missed food cost more than the pursuit gains.
  3. Learn where enemy fish patrol. The safe lanes near them stay open, and they are where the uncontested food lands.
  4. Once you are bigger, cut off your rival's path to the surface food rather than chasing their tail — size means slow.

FAQ

How do you win Fish Eat Fish?
Become bigger than your rival by eating food and small fish, then eat their fish. The tank belongs to whichever fish is largest.
Can I play solo?
The two-player duel is the headline mode; the same eat-and-grow rules apply when you practice alone against the tank's fish.
Is it free?
Yes — free in the browser with no download, supported by short ads.
What happens if a bigger fish catches me?
You get eaten and respawn small, losing your size progress — which usually decides the match.
