About Zombie Mission 12

The undead have invaded the one genre with even faster draws than they have. Zombie Mission 12 plants its flag in a parallel-universe wild west, where two heroes step off the duty-free train and into a frontier overrun by shambling outlaws, new weapons, new vehicles and drones that do not respect the laws of either man or zombie. Somewhere in town, hostages are waiting to be dramatically un-hostage-d, and the local wildlife is extremely pro-zombie.

Being episode twelve, the systems have grown teeth. Each hero carries a proper loadout with reloads that matter, a mega attack charged by holding the trigger, and — when the shared meter fills — a special attack that both heroes fire together, which is the series' polite way of saying 'screen, meet bullet'. Wall-running, swimming and vehicle rides keep the levels moving, and the western stages hide their gems and secrets in exactly the kind of saloon-adjacent places you would hope.

It is co-op zombie action at its most confident: two players, separate key maps, one shared bar of ultimate, and a frontier full of targets. Ride in, rescue everyone, and leave the town with a combined score worth boasting about at the next episode.

How to play

Desktop Player 1 runs on W, A and D, jumps with W, fires with C (hold for the mega hit), throws grenades with V, reloads with X and swaps weapons with Q and E — pressing both together unleashes the special when the bar is full. Player 2 mirrors the set on the arrow keys with its own fire, grenade and reload keys.
Mobile Twin touch layouts give each hero a movement pad plus fire, grenade and reload buttons, so the whole posse fights from one shared screen.

Tips & tricks

  1. Reload on the quiet beats, not during them — the reload key pressed under pressure is the most expensive input in the game.
  2. The special attack is a shared resource: call the timing aloud, because the meter spends for both heroes whether they are ready or not.
  3. Mega hits break armored zombies' schedule; use the stagger to reposition rather than to pour on more damage.
  4. The drones are material handlers, not pets — send them where the gems are while the heroes handle the noise.

FAQ

Is this episode playable on its own?
Yes — the western chapter stands alone with its own story and tutorialized systems, so newcomers can saddle up without playing episodes one through eleven.
What is the special attack?
A joint super move both heroes unleash when the shared meter fills, triggered by pressing both of a player's switch keys together — it clears crowds and excuses past mistakes.
How do the two heroes differ?
Each has a mirrored but separate control set and their own loadout, so the game runs as true two-player cooperation on one keyboard rather than alternating turns.
Is it suitable for younger players?
The zombies are cartoon-grotesque rather than gory, and the tone is action-adventure — a common family favorite on the co-op shelf.
