About Basketball Stars
Basketball Stars is the one-on-one basketball duel that owns the school-break leaderboard. Pick your team and take a rival head-to-head — the CPU in tournament mode or a friend on the same keyboard in two-player mode — and win games with crossovers, steals, alley-oop dunks and three-pointers launched from downtown.
The genius is in the risk economy. Stealing means slapping, and slapping with bad timing gives away free points; dunking from too far turns into an embarrassing airball. Every possession is a bluffing match, and the shot meter rewards players who keep their cool with a defender's hand in their face. Blocking and slapping are legal, so defense has real teeth.
Runs free in the browser with no download — shared-keyboard duels on desktop, touch support on mobile. Tournament mode gives solo players a full ladder of opponents, but the game earns its stars in head-to-head matches where every possession is personal.
How to play
| Desktop | Move with the arrow keys, action buttons for pass, shoot, block and slap are shown on screen per side; in two-player, each player uses their own key cluster. |
|---|---|
| Mobile | On-screen joystick and action buttons — move, shoot, dunk, steal — mirroring the desktop layout for one-thumb-per-side duels. |
Tips & tricks
- The shot meter wants timing, not speed — release at the peak of the meter for threes, and never shoot with a defender glued to you.
- Steal attempts are coin flips. If your slap misses, you are out of position; steal only when the ball is exposed on a dribble.
- Dunks beat blocks but lose to steals — save the dunk for when your opponent is trailing behind, not standing in front.
- In two-player, defend with your back to your own basket to watch both the ball and your opponent's hands.
